Distribution of Majors
(Yale-NUS Registry)

More than half of Yale-NUS College’s inaugural class have declared their majors within the Social Sciences Division, as of March 13. The inaugural class consists of 148 students who matriculated in August 2013. The Social Sciences Division has six majors: Anthropology, Economics, Global Affairs, Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE), Psychology, and Urban Studies.

The Humanities Division was the second-most popular, with 26% of sophomores declaring a major within the division. Majors offered under the Humanities Division include Arts and Humanities, History, Literature, and Philosophy. Another 14% of the Class of 2017 declared a major within the Science Division, which includes Life Sciences, Mathematical and Computational Sciences, and Physical Sciences.

Fourteen majors were offered altogether, and another 8% of sophomores declared their major as Environmental Studies.

The statistics do not include eight sophomores currently enrolled in the Double Degree Program with NUS Law. All sophomores, including Double Degree students, will have the opportunity to declare their minor at a later date.
